This cabinet was designed by a
well known husband and wife
industrial design team, Charles
and Ray Eames. This gives this
radio it's distinguished look...
pairing art deco with the cockpit
instrument panel of an airplane.
If you collect Zenith Radios or
vintage radios in general...this is
one you want in your collection.
I have personally refurbished this
radio from the inside out..including
replacing the dial string. The Cabinet
was taken down to the Pecan veneer
and hand rubbed. I use lemon oil to
bring a nice protective sheen to the
wood.
Picks up stations across the dial with
plenty of volume. The back of the radio
is the original back. From what I could
tell, the radio did not get much playing
time or was very well taken care of.
The generic yellow mustard speaker cloth
color that came with the radio took  away
from it's charm. The right angle brown black
design
I used emphasizes the art deco intent.
For an additional .00 I can put a reproduction
back on  this radio. But, this radio was kept in such
great condition....I think it looks great as it is. Just
let me know.
