    Description

    The top-mounted thumbwheel style controls have given this Setchell Carlson model 427 radio the nickname of "Frog Eyes," and it is a very nice example of a "big frog eye" circa 1947. Beautifully styled in unpainted brown Bakelite with ivory Plaskon grille and thumb wheels. It has minor surface wear, and some of that may clean up (but I am not sure how to clean Bakelite), but no chips/cracks or breaks. It uses 6 tubes, but is missing two, so it does not currently work. Great looking dial scale which would light up if working, thumb controls work well. It measures roughly 12" W x 8" H x 6". Great looking radio with some art deco style! Please see scans.
