    Description

For sale is a piece of effects pedal history, a clean, working example of the first guitar pedal ever produced, the Rocco Tonexpressor. This is a volume/tone pedal designed by Anthony Rocco for Epiphone in the late 1930's. The design was based on a car's accelerator pedal, as you can see. There is an excellent write up by Deke Dickerson from Guitar Player magazine on this pedal, I strongly recommend you Google it
The pedal does work (which is rare for these). The tone control is very pronouced and smooth. The volume control does not completely kill the signal, but it does reduce the volume some. Both pots are smooth and clean. There is an extra hole drilled into the side, presumably to make this stereo. It is otherwise in used condition with some wear and paint chipping, nothing too bad for a 100 year old pedal.
This is literally one of the first guitar pedals ever produced and an amazing piece for any collector. Do not miss out!
